Installation Schedule

Self-Storage Construction Timeline Calculator

Set the building, crew count, and work schedule to see how the installation timeline moves. Built on industry productivity data. A real schedule requires the project plans.

Estimated Installation Timeline

12 to 15working days

Single-story drive-up. 2 crews of 5 erecting plus a 4-person door crew, 8-hour days.

Adding crews helps less each time. Pick a plan to see its breakdown.

Building size
10,000 sq ft
Erection path, 2 crews of 5 at ~1,000 sq ft a day per crew
5 to 7 days
Door path, 4-person crew behind erection at 15 to 25 doors a day
7 to 10 days
Punch list and cleanup
5 days
Working days, longer path plus punch list
12 to 15 days
Weather allowance, northern Utah summer
1 to 2 days

That is about 3 to 4 calendar weeks on site: the working days plus the weather allowance, at five working days per week. Building erection, excluding roll-up doors and hallway systems, matching the published rate's stated scope.

Built on published industry productivity data: self-storage crew erection rates, Army Corps crew-scaling curves, and manufacturer door and seaming rates. Weather uses NOAA normals for northern Utah; other regions differ. A planning model, not a schedule commitment. Permits, site work, concrete, and material lead times are separate.

How the Schedule Is Modeled

Unit count and average unit size set the building area. Published erection productivity for the building type, adjusted for crew count and daily hours, converts that area into working days on site. The sources behind every rate are documented, and none of it is a commitment to a schedule.

What It Does Not Include

Permitting, site work, concrete, utility extensions, material lead times, and inspection schedules are outside the model. Weather beyond the seasonal allowance is not predicted. A project schedule requires current plans and a defined construction scope.
